This is cool but some of the attacks don't seem to be dodge able.

Kind of a cheesy story, but really fun. The controls are tight, Weapon spread isn't unbearable, and has a really cool Castlevania kinda vibe. Music is also quite good.

I really love your usage of brownish yellow as the only color. The absence of anything else makes a normally muddy and negligible color stand out vividly.
